This is where I begin. I don’t predict the future — I help to understand it and work with it consciously.
What can we learn from art? Imagination and sensitivity. Design gives them structure and translates them into process. And action? When critical thinking is strengthened, it emerges naturally and with confidence.
Hello, I’m Marta
- I connect art, design, and science — and work with knowledge as a shared process. I listen first. Then I inspire and transform ways of thinking.
- I am a multidisciplinary artist and researcher. Diversity allows me to connect perspectives, work across multiple contexts, and build coherent frameworks for complex questions.
- I publish, research, verify, and teach — so that knowledge can initiate real change.

What I do?
1 FUTURE THINKING & CRITICAL DESIGN
For me, speculative design is a working methodology and a framework for developing imagination, strengthening critical thinking, and structuring complex problems and multiple possible scenarios. It connects future-oriented thinking with critical reflection and provides tools for their materialisation.
For over ten years, I have been working in this field creatively, educationally, and academically, in dialogue with futures studies. It is within this area that I completed my habilitation and continue to develop this practice consistently.
2 ART & RESEARCH
Art is for me both a research laboratory and a space for expression and transformation. Through artistic practice, I experiment, test ideas, and develop research questions related to the future, technology, culture, and aesthetics, as well as their mutual relationships and consequences.
I create installations, artefacts, exhibitions, and publications, treating them as tools for reflection and dialogue. Art-based research lies at the core of my practice and allows me to connect theoretical reflection with the material and experiential dimensions of work.At the same time, I leave space for intuition, sensitivity, and emotion, which I consider essential sources of knowledge and creative insight
3 EDUCATION
I see education as a space for shared learning and real change. For over 15 years, I have led educational processes in design and creative practices — as a lecturer, through workshops and lectures, in different countries. I strongly believe in learning through experience and in knowledge-sharing as a continuous process.
